New documentary on rocker Roger Waters accuses him of repeated acts of antisemitism
Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marty Makary joined'America's Newsroom' to discuss the breakthrough and what it means for artificial intelligence as it is applied to medicine. Rock star Roger Waters of Pink Floyd has a history of controversial public displays, but the Campaign Against Antisemitism has released a documentary accusing him of antisemitism directly. Waters has repeatedly been criticized for shocking imagery at his concerts. Earlier this year he was condemned for a concert in Germany where he wore what appeared to be a Nazi-inspired uniform. Screens at the same concert listed the names of victims presumed to have been killed by state actors, including George Floyd and anti-Nazi activist Sophie Scholl.

A Group-Specific Approach to NLP for Hate Speech Detection
Automatic hate speech detection is an important yet complex task, requiring knowledge of common sense, stereotypes of protected groups, and histories of discrimination, each of which may constantly evolve. In this paper, we propose a group-specific approach to NLP for online hate speech detection. The approach consists of creating and infusing historical and linguistic knowledge about a particular protected group into hate speech detection models, analyzing historical data about discrimination against a protected group to better predict spikes in hate speech against that group, and critically evaluating hate speech detection models through lenses of intersectionality and ethics. We demonstrate this approach through a case study on NLP for detection of antisemitic hate speech. The case study synthesizes the current English-language literature on NLP for antisemitism detection, introduces a novel knowledge graph of antisemitic history and language from the 20th century to the present, infuses information from the knowledge graph into a set of tweets over Logistic Regression and uncased DistilBERT baselines, and suggests that incorporating context from the knowledge graph can help models pick up subtle stereotypes.

Navigating Religion, Faith, And Creativity In The Age Of AI
The history of technology has shown us that as humans we are constantly trying to create something more intelligent than ourselves. From the first time a human looked at their own reflection and thought'I know I'm here,' to the invention of the computer, our quest for understanding has been one of curiosity and wonder. How might advances in AI impact faith, ethics, and morality as we struggle to comprehend what it means for a machine to be human? The relationship between technology and religion has been central to many discussions about how new technologies may change society: machines that think like people; robots designed by some deity or government agency; nanotechnology used for good (or evil). In this article in particular, we will be focusing on the intersection of religion, technology, and art - particularly the idea of artificial intelligence and faith in relation to music.

Surprising Ways AI Can Help Recover Lost Languages
When an apparently indecipherable manuscript from a lost language turns up, AI can help. But first, how is a language born and how does it die (or get lost)? We really don't know how human language was born; theories abound but all we know for sure is that it is unique. In a 2017 paper at BMC Biology, evolutionary biologist Mark Pagel states flatly, "Human language is unique among all forms of animal communication." Most ape sign language, for example, is concerned with requests for food.

Google removes racist Chrome extension used by Neo-Nazis to target people with Jewish-sounding names
Nasa has announced that it has found evidence of flowing water on Mars. Scientists have long speculated that Recurring Slope Lineae -- or dark patches -- on Mars were made up of briny water but the new findings prove that those patches are caused by liquid water, which it has established by finding hydrated salts. Several hundred camped outside the London store in Covent Garden. The 6s will have new features like a vastly improved camera and a pressure-sensitive "3D Touch" display
